Howdy All-

I've been searching and reading all the good info on here, and have a question for which I can't find an answer......

Besides $400, what's the difference between the Bushnell Elite and Bushnell Infinity?  I've looked at the Bushnell website and they spec out almost identical.  The only difference I can find is maybe some O-rings and magnesium body?  The bins I compared are the Elite 8x43 and Infinity 8.5x45.

If anyone has firsthand knowledge, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
BP

The Infinity series has far less field of view, and lower quality lenses and coatings.
If you purchase the $400 Infinity, you pay $200 for the split bridge and $200 for the optics (which are mediocre).
At $500 you can find the new crop of premium binoculars like Frontier and Promaster, discussed on this boad.

Thanks for the input.  I'll checkout the Frontier and Promaster.

You can also find a mint/used Elite for around $450.  I have a pair (10x43) and they are spectacular.

I was at the Bushnell Outlet store for about an hour comparnig the Infinity and Elite. As close as similiar measurements I could get they were "to close to call" as far as clarity and brightness. Could not justify spending the extra money, additionally they had a $100 rebate on the Infinity's, it was an easy decision.
