Apologies if this has already been asked - is the new Bushnell Elite series the optical equal to the 3200 or 4200 series?
FWIW I asked this question to CS at SWFA and the answer I received was not much help.

I've heard different stories regarding your question. Their pricing structure reflects that the quality is still the same as the previously designated 3200 and 4200 lines. The only one I see out of line with my thoughts is the 3-10x40 which was previously a 3200 model and now it is priced at 4200 quality. I've also heard that they are all now built to the same optical standard but, IMO, that's BS.

I believe they are all now 4200 Elite glass with upgraded fully multicoated optics. 3200 series used to mean 3x zoom with Raingaurd and the 4200 series meant 4x zoom range with Raingaurd. When they came out with the 3-9x40 4200 it didnt really make sense because it was just 4200 quality glass in a 3200 body. The new scopes are just 4200 quality glass and coatings but are just called Elites because they contain both 3x and 4x zoom scope configurations.

This is also how I understood the "changes".
