i am looking at getting a new scope for my rifle, and was wondering if anyone could tell me what % of light transmitting this scope will have.

reportedly 95% but you know how manufactures have tendency to inflate figures.

I have that scope with a md reticle. It does pretty good on the lower powers in real low light but doesn't do well on anything above 6-7x . I have mine on a varmint set up though and like to really dial it in on smaller critters............so I wish it did better in low light on the higher powers.

Too much money for what it is, in my opinion...very decent but that is about it.

Might want to ask about SWFA's 110% low price guarantee.

That is very nice scope and worth the money if the configuration works for your needs.

As far as light transmission goes, it is easily the most irrelevant spec you can wonder about.  What wavelength are you wondering about?  If I tell you the number for a specific wavelength, how is that going to help you?

Here is a tidbit: a $3000 Schmidt and Bender likely has slightly lower aggregate light transmission percentage than some models of Eltie 4200 scopes.  Yet, the S&B is a much better scope in eveyr way you can think of.

My 6500 scope is a very good all around scope. Is it an alpha,no way but at the price it's not supposed to be.My Zeiss & Swaro's are 4X the money & they do have that 8% edge on Bushy, are they worth the difference,to me they are but I do find myself using the Bushnell & my 10H XD more than the others!

It's a super value , and to get incrementally better optics will require a pretty substantial investment

I have this scope mounted on a 300 WSM.  Overall a good value.  I do find it has a fairly low contrast,  though clarity is fine. The power range is fantastic.
