'm thinking of getting a Bushnell 4200 Elite 2.5-10x40 w/ the standard duplex reticle. On the website it looks a bit thick. Are the crosshairs thick?

Nope. They are about the same as a standard duplex on say a Leupold if you're familiar with them.

i agree, i feel the zplex zeiss uses is thick compared to that of the 4200, the 4200's is pretty standard i think

The 4200 duplex is the same as a Weaver Grand Slam or Nikon Monarch UCC. The only thing about them is that in certain lighting they tend to turn silverish and almost transparent. The Firefly reticles are VERY THICK in comparison.
