hello to everyone i am considering this scope for my weatherby sporter ss 257magnum. i own a elite 4200 2.5-10x50 and i really like this scope. i would like a 6500 in 4-16x50  or a 4200 but am trying not to use up to much cash, is this a good scope optically?durability wise?and the price is pretty much what i want to spend. ireally like the bushnell products unless some can suggest otherwise also i like the 5-15 magnification any comments would be welcome also i have found this product for $289 and if i do buy it will see if swfa will price match thanks                  scopes i own are meopta 3-12x56, bushnell elite 4200 2.5-10x50, swarovaski 4-12x50 av, bushnell legend 3-9x50,weaver classic extreme 2.5-10x56 ill, weaver grand slam 3.5-10x50 ss ,bushnell elite 3200  2-6x32, i guess i am a scope aholic

I was happy with the one I had. The optics were decent and the adjustments were rock solid. It's a large, heavy scope for a sporter type rifle, so keep that in mind.

Not trying to change your mind, but the 3200 5-15X40 version is 1.5" shorter and you could mount it lower with the 40mm objective. The listed weight for both the 40mm and 50mm models are the same (19 oz.).  My 50mm version was 21 oz. on my digital scale, though...something else to keep in mind.

Another good one to consider in the 3200 line is their 4-12X40 a.o. model. It's substantially shorter (13.2") & lighter (15 oz.) than either of the 5-15 models.

If you're open to other options, the Sightron SII 3-12X42 a.o. will give you better optical quality. The mounting length is pretty short on that model, so make sure that will work with your ring spacing on a long action rig like yours.  Don't go by the photo that SWFA shows on their website, as it's not correct....go to the Sightron website and check out the dimensions and photo there.

      Good shootin'.   -Al
