I have narrowed down my choices to these two scopes. the 4200 is 2.5-10 x 40 with firefly recticle, and the signature select is 3-10 x 40 with ballistic recticle. Both scopes are the same cost at $375. I will be Shooting whitetails and hogs in Texas with .243 cal, 350 yds max. Which one would you choose and why? Which one has the better glass. Thanks in advance.

That is a flip a coin kind of thing.  Put them side by side and see which one your eyes prefer.  What is more impotant to you, the low light benefits of the Firefly or the long-range shooting calculations of the Ballistic-Plex?  I don't know that a .243 is a caliber that I would want to use for long range shots on deer and hogs.

I would go Elite for the same reasons.  I think you would be paying extra for the Ballistic Plex and not ever use it.

Sight your .243 in a little high and get the fire fly..

I went with the busnell 4200. Thanks for your help. Since there isn't a store with the bushnell 4200 firefly around here, I have not been able to see the recticle firsthand. I was a little concerned that it might be a little to thick for my liking. I guess if I don't like it, I can always return it.

Chuckles, if you have ever had the opportunity to peer through a Leupold with their heavy duplex reticle and the standard duplex reticle, the Bushnell is pretty much in the middle. There is a three step down from thick to thin on the Bushnell, and on the Leupold, there is only a two step down. For hunting, I think that Bushnell has nailed the perfect blend for a low light reticle. The fact that the FireFly works as advertised is amazing to actually see in action.I think you are going to be very pleased with your choice. If not, you have a full year to decide. As far as the glass goes, I think the Bushnell has a slight overall edge over the Burris, both they are both very good. And as I have stated a million times before, the Bushnell has the Rainguard coatings that also work amazingly well. Happy hunting!!!
