I have a Bushnell 4200 6-24x50 on a 700 SPS Varmint.308. I like this scope.
I am going to put together a 10/22 this winter and will probably but the 4200 on it leaving my 700 in need of a scope.
How does the Vortex Viper 6.5-20x50 compare. I know that everyone seems to like them and the price is good.
Also why doesn't SWFA show the adjustment range in there list of specifications?

I would take the Bushnell 4200 because of it's proven track record.

I'll add here instead of making another post as this is my question as well. Again, getting ideas for a rescope project on my Marlin 30-30. I was pretty dead set on getting a Bush 4200 3-9x40; but with the Vortex Vipers being clearanced I'm considering the 2-7x32.

MY question is...drumroll please.......won't the BUSH have BETTER LOW LIGHT performance over the Viper since the Objective is 40 instead of 32. Or will it be about null because of the power differences?? I swear that Viper is a heck of a deal----BBoy623

I own the elite 6500[same glass as the 4200]I also have the vortex,I'd say the glass is a toss of the coin but I feel the vortex is made better. The Bushnells do have the Rainguard which makes for a better foul weather scope.

As far as Objective difference, only inthe low light does a larger objctive shine, but you also add size & a little weight & more money.

I think this is what you were looking for... both scopes highest power exit pupil... 40/9=4.44mm and 32/7=4.57mm. Both at 7 power- 40/7=5.7mm and 32/7=4.57mm.

i think for the price difference i would run the closeout viper (i just bought one myself).
