Hello,
I am looking for help with right hight. I have seen a few post here listing different ways to calculate the right height, but I am missing part of the equation, no base. I plan to order a Farrell 15MOA base, however I wanted to order the Farrell rings at the same time. So far: Savage 10 fcp-k Bushnell 4200 Tactical 6-24 x 50 Harris swivel Bipod (9-13) TAB Gear sling I wanted to know if there is anyone else using the same same rig, and already had the ring hight figured out. thanks for the comments and suggestions! |

Ok I have some measurements:
The OD of the front bell is 60.07mm The barrel is ~2mm lower than the receiver I saw on a different forum were someone stated that the factory standard from Ken Farrell was 0.450, i would like to see if someone that has a KF base can verify that one. 60.07 / 2 ~ 30.03mm (1.182283in) 30.03 + 3 (for lens covers) = 33.03mm (1.300394in) 33.03 - 11.43 (0.450in) = 21.6mm (0.850in) 21.6 - 2 = 19.6mm (0.772in) Assuming the 0.450 is correct I need rings at 0.772in for 3mm of barrel clearance and 0.850in for 5mm of barrel clearance. |

Get a 20 MOA TPS base and super low TPS rings and you should be set. They are .820
Or you can get seekins or badger lows and they are both right around .820ish |

My only fear with a 20 MOA base, is that it only leaves me with 2.5 MOA to try and site in at 100 yards.
I did take a look at the TPS, I do like that they have a very tight set of tolerances. |
