Both me and my father purchased Bushnell 4200 Elite 8-32x40 scopes from the competitor sale. I mounted mine on my Savage Mako .22lr and my father mounted his on a Remington Model 722 .222.

Both rifles were incredibly accurate (1/2MOA or better @ 50yards).

We started sighting in at 25 yards in an indoor range. 12x magnification. The rings on both rifles have been lapped and properly aligned. Both rifles were consistently shooting 6 inches low, 8 inches to the right. The scope cannot even adjust that much to compensate for such an inaccuracy.

I flipped my rings, switched front to back, every possible combination I could think of using the rings that I have (Leupold high mounts, Weaver style base), but the problem still persisted.

What is going on here?

It must be those cheap Leupold mounts, because the sun rises and sets on Elites
