I'm looking at these two scopes:

1.) http://www.swfa.com/pc-8352-184-bushnell-10x40-elite-3200-ri fle-scope.aspx

and

2.) http://www.swfa.com/pc-10572-1507-mueller-4-16x50-tactical-r iflescope.aspx

I've heard good things about the Bushnell, but what about the Mueller?

I like the fact the Mueller has an etched reticle and it's also lit. Is the Bushnell also an etched reticle?

How about turrets/adjustments are they similar, the Bushnell appears to have brass gears, how about the Mueller, are the gears plastic, brass or steel. Steel would be preferable to me. Does the Mueller have target knobs?

Which scope is better as far as repeatability, dependability, optics, etc.

I'm planning on using this scope for target shooting mostly at 100-300 yards. Maybe longer if I can find a range with something longer.

This scope will be going on a Robarm 5.56 XCR and may also go on a DPMS LR-308 depending on how much I like it.

Thanks for the reply, but not really what I'm looking for.

I was hoping to get replies from the SWFA folks about these as I can't look at them in person.

In this price range, looking for more features is usually not the way to go.  When scopes are built to a pretty low price point, putting in illuminated reticle, and other extras usually means that less money was spent on the important stuff, like optical and mechanical quality.  With that in mind, not surprisingly, Bushnell Elite 3200 is a substantially better scope.

While, I would still consider spending more money and getting a Super Sniper 10x42, the Elite 3200 10x40 is reasonably durable and has decent glass for the money (I have used both Elite 3200 and Mueller, in case you are wondering).  If for whatever reason, you really feel like getting a Mueller, get a Tac II 3-10x44.  That's actually a pretty good scope.  Cheaper Muellers, are not as good.
