was hoping I could get some feed back on the difference`s on the 4200 elite 30mm euro line verus the 1" line..light gathering,exspense,etc,etc..thanks in advance

Not sure which scopes you are referring to when you say 30mm euro line in the 4200's. In general though, a 30mm tube offers greater windage/elevation adjustment mainly. Alot of folks believe that a 30mm tube will transmit more light than a scope with a 1" tube, which is untrue. If you compare two Elite's in this case, both being 4200's and the only difference is tube diameter, they will be equal in terms of "brightness".

That's true, the only thing you gain other than more windage and elevation adjustment is some durability and an increase in price.

Thanks for the replys,ya I always heard the 30mm tubes have noticeable difference in light gathering and brightness, but never experencing the two side by side..great to have the experence of other hunters who`s been there and tried that.. I`m looking at the 3x9x40 elite to replace a couple of 3x9 compact leupolds.. again thanks roy&drake
