Chris,

I see that the new Burris Extreme Tactical Riflesscopes have arrived.  I was wondering what your opinion of the XTR 1.5X-6X-40mm scope was?  How does it compare to the Leupold 3-9x36mm MR/T M3 and the 1.5-5x20mm MR/T M2 with regards to mclarity of optics and ruggedness of construction?  I would appreciate any other opinions thatyou have about thatscope.  I would like to mount this scope on an Colt AR15A2 with the ARMS #2 carry handle mount and ARMS #21 low profile STANAG rings.  How much does the turret assembly protrude below the bottom of the scope tube?  Do you think that there will be a clearance issue with that scope in conjuction with the ARMS #2 carry handle mount and the #21 low profile rings?  Thanks.

Stan

Burris scopes are built like tanks, add some tactical features to the already awesome Black Diamond and you have a winner.  I don't think there is any doubt that it is more durable and rugged when compared to any Leupold (not saying Leupold aren't).

Leupold wins in the "selection" department as they offer so many different models and features that you can get one that is just right for you and your application.  Burris just has a few models to choose from is their only downside.

The only mount I have seen that hits the Burris spring housing was an Accuracy International factory base.  It should clear your application but there is no way of knowing until its tried and unfortunately we don't have any of the ARMS rings to try it.
