Burris XTR 2 1.5-8 DFP

I am looking at this scope to replace my Aimpoint red dot with flip to side 3x magnifier for a hog hunt. As I get older, I find shots at 100yds with 3x more difficult. Does anyone own this scope? Thoughts...?
I like the concept of Dual Focal Plane reticles. THe center dot is illuminated and does not change in size during the zoom process an often quoted disadvantage with First Focal Plane reticles up close. The combo I am looking at will have a Burris Fast Fire 3. The gun I am mounting it on is a 300 Blackout. My thoughts were to sight the scope using 110g VMAX and then the Burris Fastfire Red dot with subsonic 220gr ammo for up close shots.
Any input from our enlightened crowd is appreciated.
