There are Burris Eurodiamond, Weaver Classic Extreme and Bushnell Elite 4200 in 1.25-4 x24 Illuminated #4 reticle with 30mm tubes. Which do you all like better or think would be the best of the bunch and why. Also, the #4 reticle is a low light reticle and easier to see so why add Illumination? Shouldnt it be better to put a plex and an illuminated dot and get the best of both worlds?

What do you use the top post for other than to block the view?

Watch the video to learn what you are not understanding.

This may sound crazy....but my eyes seem to automaticly focus above the center cross hairs on the German type reticle. I feel the regular 4 plex has the same effect as peep sights as for quick natural eye focus on the center cross hairs. You may want to try it yourself to see if the same happens to you. When I look at the three post or the German, the first thing I notice is the open view above the cross hairs. Someone posted a picture of  the german post right here somewhere. Check it out.

Ok, I watched the video again.  So do you have to use an objective small enough to allow both eyes to still see the target to get full benefit fo this type of aiming system?  I see they offer accupoints that would allow this and then they offer large ones that would block the view out of the second eye.

Sorry but I'm not following you in what you are saying. I just feel that for a quick shot  "reflex" that I may tend to shoot low with the German post. But if you have time to think about what you are doing, then it should be no problem.

The Bushnell Illum is really a dusk and night setup.  Had a 2.5-10 4200 with illumination and it was not for daytime use like some others.

I have the Bushnell Elite 4200 2.5-10x50 Illuminated reticle.Perfect for hunting at night or low light. This scope is designed for this type of hunting and works good.Still very good on a hunting rifle.
