Wanting to upgrade the old Bushnell Trophy binos.

I have narrowed it down to the Burris Euro 8x42 and the Vortex Razor 8x42. Which one would you guys choose and why, or is there another in the $700 range that I should consider.

Of the two you listed, I would pick the Vortex Razor.

Others you might look at would include:

Leupold Golden Ring HD
Meopta Meostar
Bushnell Elite

What if the hokey pokey really is what it's all about?

Looking at those 2 bins side by side, I would swear they are made by the same supplier to the exact same specs, just with different rubber armoring and branding.  I haven't seen the Euro outside of a store and compared the optics to a Razor, though.  Regardless, I would choose the Razor because I have more faith in Vortex customer service, and I prefer its aesthetics.

Throw another vote in for the Razor. I owned two or three units of the 8x42 and found them to be optically excellent and quite ergonomical.

Others to consider are the Meopta Meostar, Pentax ED, Bushnell Elite and Promaster Elite ELX ED. The latter is new to the market. I have both the Meostar and the Promaster EDs. The Promaster's view is nearly as wide as the Meoptas with more natural color, a slightly brighter image and better resolution. The Meopta has the larger sweet spot and therefore a slightly more relaxing image.
