I have a DPMS .308 that I am looking to equip with a reasonable scope.  I am looking for something that will let me get the best out of the gun out to 300 yards.

I have shot a Leupold VX-II ( I think. It was a modest price Leupold 3x9 duplex with no parralax correction) for a week at a sniper school so this is my baseline as I was able to pass the class with this scope and this is what I am used to.  Anything comparable or better is what I am looking for.

I have a 1 piece, 1 inch, scope mount that fits the gun perfectly and is very comfortable for me, so a 1 inch tube would be nice, but not mandatory.

Right now the two that I think will fit my needs at a price I could afford are the Burris Fullfield II 4.5-14 and the super sniper 10x.

If there are others out there, I want tactical knobs so I can work up my dope chart and an adjustable parralax.

I am divided if I prefer variable versus fixed.  During the school I used the scope at 9x out to 700 yards and did not have any problems.  The only time I adjusted down in power was at 25 yards as I could not get the scope to focus, but the adjustable parallax will take care of that.

Let me know what you think of my choices so far.

I would go with the Super Sniper out of the two scopes. It is a well desighned tactical scope for the price.
