I have been spending hours on this site reading all the “scope vs. scope” threads to try to narrow down my choices to put on top of my new Tikka T3 Lite Stainless .308 which will be used for hunting and shooting to about 500 yards.

My current hunting scope is a Zeiss Conquest 3-9.  I’m looking for something that is on par with that scope in terms of clarity, sharpness, and low light performance.  It needs to be a “mid range” scope that won’t kill my wallet.

I just came across the Burris Veracity 2-10x42 and the FFP reticle intrigues me, even though I know I don’t “need” it.  I searched this forum for reviews and came up with nothing, so now I guess I'm making yet another "scope vs scope" type of post.  I apologize in advance!

So...does anybody have any experience with the Veracity?  If the glass is good,  and if they are reliable, it may be an option for me.  The biggest downside that  I see (on paper) is they are pretty darn heavy, but perhaps the other pluses will override the extra heft.

Any and all info about this scope greatly appreciated.  Just for conversation’s sake, below are the other scopes I’m considering if anybody wants to chime in.  Feel free to add other suggestions.   I’m looking for a though, reliable scope that is at least close to the optical performance of my Conquest that will keep me hunting until dusk…or maybe a few minutes after.

Accurate and repeatable adjustments are a top priority.   So please keep that in mind.  Thanks!

Burris Veracity 2-10x42

Vortex Viper HS 2.5-10x44

Leupold VX-R 3-9x40

Sightron II Big Sky 3-9x42 (or 3-12x42)

Meopta MeoPro 3-9x42

Minox ZA5 HD 2-10x40

I've been looking at that scope also and trying to find info which so far is pretty limited.  A thread I read on another forum suggests it is essentially the sporting version of the new Extreme II series using the same glass, a comment I interpreted to be speculation rather than informed fact.  I'm hoping Ilya evaluates one of the Extreme II models and and can comment on their relationship, if any, to the Veracity models.  I notice the Veracity is gone from the Sample List.  So perhaps one of us now owns it.  I have been waiting for a firm trade value on a scope I sent to SWFA that they received 11/26 with the Veracity as my stated target purchase.  Now that Black Friday/Cyber Monday sales are behind them I anticipate hearing something in the next few days.  I've had good experience with Burris scopes so am willing to take a chance if I end up owning the used one.  If I didn't get the Veracity my other "need" is an EOTech so either way I will be happy.

I have almost no experience with FFP scopes, and no experience at all with the Veracity.
The Veracity reticle is 0.3 moa thick. I don't see how a reticle that thin, on a hunting scope that goes down to 2X, could be a good thing.

Just get the Meopta.  If you don't like it; which I doubt will be the case.  You can sell it on here.
