Just curious which of these two you guys like better. They both can be had for around $150.00. Just want one to put on either my Marlin 30-30 lever or a MDM Buckwacka Muzzleloader (H&R design break action). Is either optically or functionally better. I dont like real critical eye relief scopes.

With the Weaver at 1X you can easily keep both eyes open. It will have a wider field of view for running shots.

For either rifle, the 1x3 Weaver imo, is the better choice.

1x on the low end gives you a very wide 87' of FOV @ 100 yards. As such, its a better magnification for closer range timber and brush hunting, faster acquiring and aiming with both eyes open and while set on the 3x, more than enough for either rifle`s effective hunting range.

How about Weaver 1-3x20 vs. Nikon Monarch 1.5-4.5 x20. I realize the Monarch probably has a bit better optics but I want the one that has the bigger or more comfortable view and the heavier duplex. I have looked through an old Monarch before and I thought the view was nice but seemed to have a small sight picture. Is the Weaver similar or larger? Are the plex reticles about the same or is the Nikon heavier or thinner in the outer lines? thanks
