I just bought a Burris Speed Dot 135 to use for turkey hunting. It will be mounted on a Browning Gold 12 gauge. It comes with a set of aluminum rings with the purchase. The tube is 35mm and I am trying to find a better set of 35mm rings for it. The only 2 companies I have found that make 35mm rings are TPS and Seekins Precision. The base for the Browning is a weaver style. The rings from TPS say they will fit a picatinny rail mount and the rings from Seekins Precision say they have both a weaver style and a picatinny style. I was wondering what the difference is between the picatinny and weaver style bases and or rings are? Will the picatinny style work on a weaver style base? I posted a similar thread in the tacticle forum and I think it should have been posted in this forum. I would like to use the TPS rings if I can because they have a quick detach style that I prefer, but they are a picatinny style. I am relatively new to these forums and any help or suggestion would be greatly appreciated.

slot size difference and width of the slot in the rings that fit into them. TPS makes a "bolt" for both weaver and picatinny. picatinny fit in a weaver but with a little slop as I recall before the lug is engaged. the degree of accuracy in a shotgun won't matter.

TPS also makes a "W" type 35mm ring too, my friend.
