I finally got to spend some trigger time with my re-refurbished Burris Signature Select 3-10x40 today. This is the one that couldn't get close to zero (8"L x 3"R @ 100m) due to stuck knobs. Burris claimed that their scope was perfect and that although they replaced the windage system from the goodness of their hearts my real problem must be a defective Tikka T3 or bad rings. I dropped my newly returned re-refurbished scope into those same rings and low and behold my rifle had magically fixed itself. The scope bore sighted dead on with no adjustments. ;)

Because of the heat I didn't have a lot of time today and so shot only at the 50 and 100m targets. 2" up put me dead on at 100m. The Burris as per it's reputation was very bright but I noticed that at 50m that the focus was much softer than my new Nikon Monarch 2-8x32. The image seemed a tiny bit sharper at 100m but not as sharp as the Nikon. To be fair this little Monarch is a wee bit sharper than my Team Primos. I'm surprised because other tests I've read put the Burris almost neck and neck with the Bushnell 4200 and slightly clearer than a Monarch.

At this early stage of informal testing I'd rank them as 1) Monarch, 2) Team Primos 3) Signature Select. I'll go back next week and see how they rank at 200m.
