Im sure this is a good scope but it is discontinued. What is a good price for one of these? Ive found a couple and am not sure If a Leupold VX3 1.75-6x32 (heavy plex) is a better scope than the Sig. Safari. Is the Safari worth $300.00 or should I just get a Leupold? I want a low powered Zeiss but they are pretty large for low powered scopes.

I don't know which one your deciding on,the 1.5-6x40 or the 1.75-5x32,but either are a GREAT scope and worth at least $300. Here are some specs I gathered while researching for a low powered variable.

      1.5-6x40:
      e/r  3.5"-4"
      oal  11.3"
      wt   16oz
      min ring spacing  5.6"

      1.75-5x32:
      e/r  3.8"-4.5"
      oal  11.6"
      wt   12oz
      min ring spacing  5.5"

They are worth MORE than $300. Not only are the optics good, but they're very tough. I've used a 1.75-5x32 as one of my primary hunting and test scopes for hard kickers for years now. It has been on a variety of rifles from .338 Win. Magnum upward to a couple of .416's and just keeps going.

The 1.75-5x32 (Taper Plex) is the one Im looking at. I have always wanted to try one but the New Leupold V3 with Heavy Plex may have better glass and be lighter. I had a Sig. Select 1.5-6x40 with Taper plex but it had a flaw so it got sent back. I did like the reticle though it looked just like a Zeiss #20 Z plex. I would just get a Zeiss but like I said they are bigger.

I've got a VXIII 1.75-6x32 w/heavy plex.  I like it and the reticle.  If I could change one thing it would be the big difference in eye relief from low power to high power.  It seems I remember someone at OT saying that issue has been resolved?  Maybe?
