I have considered trying some Burris scopes but I have heard that their quality control is not what it once was. I read on a competitors web site that they no longer carry BURRIS optics due to the unusually high return rate and they recommended ZEISS, NIKON and of course Leupold. They stated that the Fullfield quality has declined and that the Signature Select line was hit and miss. They also state that the Nikon scopes are cheaper but brighter and have a very low return rate.
Do you all agree with this assesment? I wanted to try a SIGNATURE SELECT 1.5-6X40 and also a FULLFIELD II 2-7x35 #4 reticle for a muzzleloader. I know the Signatures are made in the USA, but is the Fullfield 2-7x35 made here also? Are the Signature Optics less bright and is the resoloution worse than Nikon monarch?

Fullfield II series is made in the Philipines.  Their remaining scopes are made in the US, at least for now.

I have had quite a few Burris scopes, and I've always thought they were a good value.  However, I personally haven't been very impressed with the last 4 or 5 Burris scopes my friends and I have purchased during the past 2 years.  We haven't had any mechanical problems with them, but they haven't impressed me optically.

Do any of you have any Signature Select models and if so have you compared it directly against say a New Nikon Monarch or Bushnell 4200 Elite?

I have a Signature Select 3X-10X-40mm.  I compared it to the Leupold VX-III 3.5X-10X-40mm, the Bushnell 2.5X-10X-40mm and the Ziess Conquest 3X-9X-40mm.  I am very pleased with my choice, but this was over 2 years ago.
