I have the option of trading for a Burris Fullfield II 3-9x40 and a Nikon Buckmaster 3-9x40. Buckmaster has BDC reticle and Fullfield has ballistic plex. I was wondering if anyone has compared the two. I cant decide on which one is better it says Burris has 95% light transmission compared to 92% on the Nikon.  If anyone can chime in on the better scope, it will be appreciated, Thank you.

I've looked at them extensively in comparison, and have shot both, but haven't owned a Fullfield II. I do own a Buckmaster SF model.
I prefer the Buckmaster's turret system to the Fullfield IIs, but I like the Burris ballistic plex more than any of Nikon's reticles, especially the overly large BDC "chain of donuts".
I can't comment very usefully on the Nikon glass as I have a SF model not a fixed parallax model. Mine does have nice depth of field, which I think comes as a result of using that field stop that also appears to give some Nikons a bit of tunnel vision. That said, the Buckmaster's resolution is very nice at long distance and the glass is clear, but not quite on par with my Vortex Viper. IIRC, the Buckmaster is not fully multicoated, but only multicoated, which probably accounts for the slight reduction in light transmission vs the fully multicoated Fullfield II.

I have both fullfield II 3-9 and Buckmaster 6-18, and Prostaff 3-9 with BDC.  Agree with poodle in that I dont like the BDC circles, too cluttered for me.  The Fullfield ballistic plex to me is very user friendly, and a much cleaner look, I like it a lot better.

As far as glass they are pretty comparable, but I also think my prostaff 3-9 is extremely bright for the money.  I know the reviews havent shown them to be that good at times, and I use mostly during full daylight, but it is very bright to my eyes with a sharp picture, and on clearance prices a heck of a buy.

If its between the two above you mentioned, I would take the Burris for the reticle.

For average copies of each, I would expect the Burris FFII to be better than the Buckmaster optically. The FFII has an excellent reputation for holding zero, and its adjustments are OK. On the whole, I would vote for the FFII.

Just my .02, but I've compared buckmaster to FFII, and I'll take the FFII hands down....in fact, I did.
