Unless others had some bad experiences with recoil issues to report, I don`t see any reason why it wouldn`t work for the 338 Mag............I have read reviews where lower dollar scopes including the Weaver v3`s and v7s have been used successfully on .375`s for long periods of time.

I've read in multiple publications that the fullfield II is one of the most reliable scopes out there.  I haven't any personal experience with the fullfield II, but I wouldn't hesitate to try it on the .338.  Burris also has a very good warrenty if something should accur.

Big Squeeze, marinecpl has you beat on the avatar.  Welcome to the OT, marinecpl.  I would not hesitate to put the FFII on a 338.  I should handle the recoil well.  And like lucytuma said, they have a good warranty.

i had a ffII on my 300wsm and it was a kicking s.o.b and it held zero for years, the eye relief was fine and the scopes quality was fine too, of course in relation to its price.
