I am comming  up to make a purchase here very soon. The new rifle is Remmy 700VLS .223. It's primary purpose is for varmints out to 300yds. I've been a  long user with Leupold and Nikon. But want to go with a different brand this time around. I'm leaning towards the Fullfield II LRS:

But the LRS is an extra 100 bucks, is this really worth the extra cost.  I've hunted in low light conditions with the Nikons and Leupold's and never had a problem.

But with the ballistic Plex, I might have a hard time seeing the yardage lines.

Does anybody have any real hunting experience with the LRS and BP?

My budjet is $600 and that is with bases and rings. So if you have any other recommendations please feel free to post up your opions.

As for the bases would a 1 or 2 piece work better for this scope and the same with the rings?

I will be ording from SWFA here this weekend so any link to the bases and rings would be great.

Thank you for your itme and replies

Gotcha,

Got any inputs on what mounts and rings to use for the scope. Budject is around 100-150 or so.  The max distance would be around 400 tops with the majority at 200-300yds.

I  love the mark4 but I just don't have the cash for them.

What would be the next best set-up within the range.

Thank you for your help input.

If you want a some extra "up" and a rail.

The reason I asked about needing a lit reticle, was because if you really don't need it, save your money and get a better quality of scope.

The piss poor ones (and there are many) are too bright on the lowest setting, and unusable at higher settings, cost more, weigh more, etc.

Few scope makers "do a lit reticle right", and the ones that do have funny names like...

Schmidt und Bender, Zeiss, Swarovski.

Good luck to you, Sir!!

Please report back to The Hive here and let us know how you make out with your new purchases.
