Hello,

I recently bought a fullfield II E1 scope for a vanguard 300 win mag. Admittedly, I've always been a cheap scope guy, and while the burris fullfield is by no means a high dollar scope, it should be a step up over the cheapo simmons scopes i've used previously.

There is on thing about the burris that i'm not sure about, and I can't find any answers to the question by searching, watching youtube reviews, etc. My question is simply the following: Is the reticle supposed to extend to the edges of the lens, or are the main plex lines supposed to stop short of the edges of the lens? Every other scope I've dealt with before had the plex lines extended to the edge of the lens, but, the burris ballistic plex does not do so.

Is this how it is supposed to be, or is there something screwy with my scope?

Thanks for the input!

Nope the reticle doesn't go to the edges in these scopes. I've yet to see it in person, but have seen many pictures of it. I'd really like to try out one of these new scopes, and I hope I get the chance to review one sometime in the future.

Thank you for the reply! I was having a hard time with believing there could be anything screwed up with it since POA and POI have been spot on, but it is definitely a different look than what I'm used to. I'm thinking about grabbing the 4.5-14 E1 for a 22-250 I have sitting here to get more trigger time in with the reticle / get more comfortable with it. The problem is I look at the 4.5-14 E1, then I think "well, for $40.00 more I can get a vortex viper"...then "well, for a little bit more than that I can get an SII big sky".....etc, etc.

The end result is I go to bed to "sleep on it" and fight the same battles again the next night.

Thanks again for the reply!!

I have looked at the E1 and they indeed have a small reticle in the middle. I think that will be great on a varmint rifle; not so sure about a small magnification close range big game gun. I plan to get one in 4.5-14 for the .223.
