my pal recently purchased a Marlin lever action in .45-70 and very quickly trashed a nothing-fancy red dot scope.
He then eyeballed the Burris FF II 3-9x40 I have on my lever action and wondered if a similar Burris could withstand years of pounding by 405-grain hunting cartridges.
Your opinions are most welcome.
Cheers,
Carl

I would say any Burris would. They are very durable. One of the toughest most durable scopes we sell.
Burris FF2 It'll take a pounding. Edited by Brady |

yes, the burris will withstand the FF2, but i think 3-9 is a little too much power for a 100-200 yard gun, if it will even be shot that far. i would look at something in the 1-4, or 2-7 range.
