The deal on the FFII 3x9 and the binoculars looks too good to pass on. I know what a 2.5x8 Leupold VXIII looks like on a Remington Model 7 SS. Is the Burris much larger? I don't have the luxury of comparing sizes, and I know how a scope looks on a rifle is pretty subjective. I just donít want something that looks too huge on a compact rifle. Thanks for any help.

The Burris FFII should work just fine.

I replaced a Leupold 2.5x8 Vari-X III with a Burris Fullfield II 3x9 on one of my rifles.  There didn't seem to be any noticeable difference in size, weight, or (interestingly) field of view.

The Burris was a brighter and better scope, in my opinion.

I've got a Burris FFII 3-9X40 on a Ruger 77 and a Leupold VX III 2.5-8X36 on one of my Kimber 84's and on a Cooper M57.  The difference is size is not huge, but I really like the VXIII on the Kimber.  I had put a Conquest 3-9X40 on it, but it just didn't match the rifle.  Optical quality of the VXIII is significantly better, and windage and elevation adjustments are much more precise.
