Does anyone have an opinion on a Burris Fastfire red-dot sight?

I have a FFII in the winged mount on one of my ARs - it is piggybacked on top of a Burris compact 3x9.  FFII is zeroed at 25 yards, the 3x9 at 100.

I like it, and the price was right, compared to other options.  FF II has a gasket that makes it more water resistant that the FF, in theory - I have not tested it.

I have on on an AR mounted on top of a scope. Works okay but it reallly needs to be closer to the eye than I can mount it for fast acquisition.

Scope is in fixed mount (both rings aore part of a milled block that attaches to the rail)
If scope is moved back far enough in the rings to get the Burris mount on the back part of the scope (behind the last ring) then the back of the scope covers up the operating handle and its a little hard to grasp.

Best solution is to get HIGH rings and get seperate rings so you can move them around on the rail.

Its is really high over the bore so it is close range only. Works pretty good at 50 yards.

I have one that is going back to Burris.  It's brand new and the elevation screw won't move the elevation in either direction.  I purchased it from SWFA in May of 2009; I wanted to be ready and not scrambling for gear at the last minute.  A lot of good that did me.  Even if they do fix it I'm screwed; my turkey season starts on 04-10.Cussing

Sorry if Burris screwed up --- every manufacturer has a dud occasionally so one should always allow more time to get new equipment squared away than is actually needed.  That does not make it SWFA's fault because there is no way they could have known and I have had them bend over backwards on more than one issue to try to make something right.
I find it a bit difficult to believe that anyone needs a sight other than the bead on the front of the shotgun barrel to shoot a turkey but whatever.
