Does anyone have experience or an opinion on the Burris Euro Diamond 1.5-6x40 with #4 Electro Dot reticle? I can get one for $340.00. I know it is a heavy scope but I have never tried a Burris and it seems like a good deal. They have 30mm tubes but their adjustment range and weight match the Sig. Select specs 1.5-6x40 so I guess the 30mm tube is just for looks on this one but I am wondering if the glass is better.

You are getting a good deal at $340.  There is not a whole lot of difference in the scopes.  The adjustment range is the same.  The adjustments are both 1/2  moa.  They weigh about the same.  The Sig Sel is a little shorter I believe.  The glass is the same as the glass in the Black Diamond series.  I have heard that the Sig Sel glass is the same as well, but I would have to call Burris to confirm that.

The Burris scopes in my opinion are very rugged.  They are a bit heavy, but I have never noticed the weight on my rifles.  I believe the glass quality on the Black Diamond and Euro Diamond are as good as the Conquest.  They are better than my Elite 4200 in my opinion.  You will be getting a good scope for that price!

You can get the posi-lock on the Euro.  Great feature for hard kicking rifles.  I do not think it is available on the Sig Sel.

Yeah, I had a Burris catalog sent to me and checked the specs in the back and couldnt understand how the Sig. Select and Euro had the same adjustment range seeing as how one is one inch tube and the other is 30mm. Like I said I guess its just for looks. Ive heard that the Euro Diamonds have better quality control than the Sig. Select and lower lines and they dont have nearly as many complaints. I want to try a #4 reticle and this one has an illuminated dot to boot. I guess if I dont care for it I can sell it as I always do. The weight is my main concern and the glass quality Im sure is good.

You will be getting good glass for sure.  They are a little heavier, but I have never had one come apart mechanically, and they are rugged.  I had a horse roll on my rifle.  Broke the stock, but the FFII I had on it worked perfect.
