I have a question regarding all these new "ed" versions coming out.  I have had a set of burris euro diamond for about 3 yrs now and was thinking about upgrading to a better pair.  I have seen the posts about the "amazing" zen ray ed 2 binos and was wondering how my 8x42 euro diamonds would compare to them. I live and hunt in nm where binos are the most important piece of equipment u take on a hunt so this info is greatly appreciated.

Also, why is there hardly any info on here about Burris euro diamonds??? I feel optically they are as good as most others in their price range "when i originally purchased them" and were right up there with the (pentax sp and razors), is this because of burris's bad rep or am i totally blind??
Thanks again for the great discussions

I don't know for sure, but I think the Euro Diamond is made by the same Japanese optics mfg that makes the Vortex Razor.  If you look at them side by side, other than the difference in the rubber armor, they look the same.  If this is the case, the Euro Diamond is a great binocular.  I have only looked through them in a store, but they looked quite good to me.

However, if they are the same basic binocular as the Razor, I would just buy the Razor, as the warranty and customer service is better than what you will get with Burris.

I really have no answer why there is no information to speak of on the Euro Diamond.  Might be because therw is nothing "euro" about it since it is Japanese.  But who knows.
What I am more curious about is what is it with the Euro Diamond that nees improvement?  From What I can tell, the Euro Diamond is a lot like the Razor.  The new ZEN ED 2 is a very good binocular, but whether there is a lot of improvement there may be up to debate.
So, some clue about what needs improvement might go a long ways toward an answer.
