So I went to the range to test some loads, nevertheless, my last loads started to creep way down the target sheet at 100yd. At first I thought, well it doesnt like this load too much, then I thought well it actually cant stand this load.. , anyway after a while I was missing the target altogether. Turns out my scope's front dovetail extended ring had separated from itself (the ring portion that was bonded to the base/dovetail portion simply gave out, and I was only using 49 grains).

My comment/question is, is it fixable (epoxy, etc) or should I simply buy new front ring? I could swear that these were welded pieces but guess not, maybe I won't buy these rings again. What is anybody's thoughts on this?

They should go back to the manufacturer and the manufacturer should replace them.

Don't waste your time on the Burris extended front dovetail.  I had this exact problem with the same front ring twice.  I have read close to 20 posts from others with this simular problem.  I finally replaced mine with simular leupold rings, problem solved.

thanks for the feedback, I will try em.  The Burris I will see if I can get someone to weld em if they won't deform. Other then this little 'tic' i like the rings, but not gonna send em bak to be replaced by another set of rings that will just fail again. Maybe I need a custom front ring, cuz cant seem to find an extended front ring other then Burris or Leupld, or Redding.
thanks.
