Just got an email from Burris stating the six x is discontinued. I was asking which other scopes had stormcoat as I was thinking of buying one for my son. Anyone know anything about this?

I really hope that SWFA has some sweet deals on them like they did with the Euro Diamond I bought. I'll be scooping one up for sure!

Guess they didn't sell too well.

It is a decent scope with a a nice mag range. I like the storm coat and will look for a great deal for my son as well if it is just a sales problem. I still wonder if they have functional or recoil problems. I hope not. I guess time will tell the story.

This the first time I heard this, it will be interesting to see what others have read or heard in reference to Six X.

I would like to know as well lucytuma. I know there was someone on here that was touting the eliminator from a tv show or something. Maybe he has some insight. he seemed to be very tied in with the Burris people. I have emailed back to Burris as to why, but no response. I just think that they did not do a good job of marketing a decent product. Up here the Burris shelf space is all but gone which I think is too bad. A few months ago I had heard that they were going to expand this mag range with a couple of others. I think that if they marketed the six x on their site at a price which it actualy sells at they would move a good number of these. I bought mine for just about 1/2 of their listed price on the site. I have seen them for quite some time in the US for similar prices.

I hope they don't have a recoil issue since have it on a light 338 Federal.  So far so good.  I like the scope and will likely be carrying it this weekend.

I realy don't get it. The scope has a great mag range, and it has very decent optics. I am sold on the stormcoat. For hunting purposes, it is a very good tool. I wonder if they are replacing it with something else. Last night I did some site surfing and people comonly say that the Burris scopes are as tough as nails. I couldn't find anything that would suggest that the six x had function problems. I have one more hunt this year, and just for a precaution I will be taking the 06 ruger that I gave to my son, for back up.
