Hi

I'm going to buy a small compact scope for target shooting and have probably made my mind up to buy a Burris compact or short magnum with a ballistic plex reticle in either 12 or 14 x magnification. If any one has got one I would like some feedback either possitive or negative. I currently have a couple of high mag 4200s and was wondering how the Burris glass on this range compares with that of the Bushnells. I appreciate that the Bushnells are both 40mm compared to the Burris's 32mm but this is one of the areas I require ie. the 32mm to see if it gives a greater depth of field in comparison to the 40mm in the application I intend to use it in. This involves targets at different airgun ranges but with a restriction on being able to adjust parrallax once the competition has started.

Andy.

Welcome; I looked on the Burris web site and only seen two different R/A "Rimfire/Air Rifle" scopes. One a 3-9x32mm and another 4-12x? not sure if this is a 32mm or a 40mm. But be sure to get one of the R/A scopes if you buy from Burris because the parallax will adjust down to 7 yards.

Well I bought a compact airgun and a short mag both with AO and for the application I bought them for they have served me well and have both brought home the silverware and accounted for numerous rabbits in good light, find them not so good at dusk.

The reason for resurecting the thread however is this now the range has dissapeared and been replaced by the much cheaper timberline, which I understand are now made in the Phillipines has anyone done a side by side test to work out if there is in fact any build quality or optical quality differences of note.

Or are they the same?

Andy
