i know the monarch is the better buy with the sale going on and all, but i would like to have a silver scope for my rem 700vssf. i have narrowed my choice down to two scopes. one the buckmaster 4x12x40 in silver finish and side adjustemt. or a 4x12x40 monarch that is on sale. are the monarchs that much better of a scope? should i just live with having a black scope? or should i buy the silver buckmaster. i think silver would look better but i realize looks arent every thing. but if there isnt much difference why not go for the pretty. lee

Lee, give SWFA a call and see if it's possible to get the Sightron S2 scopes, many of them come in Silver and have a very favorable postings on OT. I have only 1 at the present time but will have others as soon as the new ones come out.

Rob

I just bought a Sightron SII 3-9x42 for 199.00, I put it on a Ruger m77 Stainless, it looks good. the scope has great optics - I am very satisfied

I know SWFA will be getting them, I was told it would be this summer........

LEE, reading you post again, I guess I did not answer your real question. to my eyes Monarchs or better than BuckMasters but I think the question to you would be - do you need a scope for low light shots - which is when the deer in my area really start moving. IF low light conditions are a must for you, then I would go with the monarch.

I have swithced out all of my scopes this year, I plan to hunt very early and very late next deer season, even upgraded my BINOs

this is JMO

Me and a friend looked through them both as a side by side comparison.  Strangely, he noticed a huge difference, and I noticed a slight difference.  But worth while.  Jump on the monarch deal before the ystop accepting orders.
