While looking through a catalog sent my way recently, I noticed this little gem:

It is a red dot site - with a red laser?  Admittedly, I am just a dumb ol' Marine, but someone explain how having 2 red dots in my scope view tells me where the hell the bullet will fall.  A laser with a conventional optic, sure; but a laser with a red dot? Two red dots is one too many.

I'll call this an epic fail till someone explains the brilliant part that I am too dense to appreciate at this moment.

That's ingenious!! (sp??) I don't know what you are talking about. Especially with 1/5 of the male public in the U.S. being red/green colorblind. You need all the red dots you can get in a scope, just to have a snowball's chance in seeing one of them. Geniuses!!Whacko

Either or, but not both at the same time, perhaps?  While using the red dot, laser is off.  Laser use only for CQ low light shots where you don't necessarily shoulder the weapon.

Come on, guys.  I would think that with all the collective intelligence here you could figure it out.  The laser is there for political correctness purposes.  The red dot in the scope is only visible with one eye.  That is clearly discriminatory, so the laser dot is there to be seen by the other eye as well.
