There has been a lot of questions in the past about the Brunton spotting scope line. I have some dirt on Brunton. This summer I decided to buy a new spotter. I did a lot of research. Brunton was bought by Gerber a little while ago. The spotters were made in Japan and while being a little heavy were very well built. I talked to a few friends who sell them and I bought a 15 -45 X62 that was from Japan. One gearhead I know who knows his stuff said that Gerber switched to China for the spotters. He said the quality of them went down the drain. He said the Japanese ones were great and their store had now dropped Brunton. I have dealt with their repair on a pair of binos and they did A+ work. But I am skeptical of the switch to China production. I spent 3 weeks sheep hunting with mine this fall and found it to be a good scope, better light than the 50 mm but it is a little heavy. I will use it in the future though. I agree with lucznik it is a little overpriced. Got mine a little cheaper.

How do you like the 15-45x62?  I assume that's the ED glass.  I'm looking for a mid priced spotter as a gift so I appreciate your thoughts.  Thanks.
