anyone got any real time with one?

got one coming for T&E and may hunt with one this season if I can get it to shoot well

I used a Micro Hunter 308 last year on a youth build project and it was a nice little rifle.

I have a thing for old Sakos for deer hunting but all the new ones have a 22.5" barrel and I just prefer a 24 on a 25-06

Haven't owned a 25-06 personally, grew up shooting one that was dad's but he up and sold it to someone about 10 years ago!

It was just a killing machine, if I could see it, pull the trigger, go pick up deer..

They are priced right should I decide to keep the Browning, so, that is certainly appealing..

The other one that gets my attention is a Cooper which I may get if I don't fall in love with the X bolt

I have handled them and they feel good, are light, decent trigger, not stellar, but functional.
So, the question becomes do they shoot?

I already have some Black Hills 100g TSX and will get some factory loaded Barnes 100g TTSX and of course I handload.

Sighted 2.5 at 100 it's point blank out to 300 and hold to the top of the back out to 400 or so.

I have plenty of other options to hunt with but I am anxious to try a a 25-06 again and hope the Browning shoots well.

I know you have to tinker to see what a particular gun likes of course.  Just looking for feedback from people that own one.

thanks

No I don't, sorry.

I've heard very good things about the x-bolt though so I recently picked up an x-bolt "micro midas" for my daughter in .243. It seems like a sweet rifle and we'll  be going to the range shortly to sight it in for her.

yep, I used the Micro in 308 fro a youth gun project
everyone at the lease checked it out and liked it

my dad was like "I don't have any need for this, but I want one"
I wish Browning would do a properly speced 6.8 with a  16" barrel in the micro line

My go-to pick for several years has been a 25-06. It's a sweetheart. As to rifles, it's a Cooper. It has a 22" bbl. Other than a smidge heavy, it's a definite keeper. It loves TTSX and plain old TSX stuff. I had an X-Bolt in 300 WSM but sold it. I liked it fine, but somebody with green money liked it more. A buddy has one in 30-06 which he loves.

Unfortunately, I'm not handloading. I'm too old, too dumb and too busy. I've gotten some custom and production stuff from Stars and Stripes Ammo over near Tampa. It's been good stuff.

Got a Tikka M695 in .25-06 great gun.  Like you said "pull trigger go pick up deer".

Got a X-Bolt Hunter in .308.  I do handload for it.  With fullhouse load (based on Hornady Manual) it pushes a 150g Hornady BTSP to 2960 fps.  But best accuracy (3/4") was at 2880 fps.  So that's my load.  Light weight, decent trigger, 60 degree bolt throw, center feed magazine and topped with a Zeiss Conquest 2.5x8x32 it may become my "go to" gun.

BTW +1 on the Sakos.  Got an AV in .270 Win. (current "go to" gun) and a M591 in 7mm-08.  Sweet Rifles!

The 25-06 is a great medium game caliber.  I've never owned an Xbolt, but I do own a few Abolts and really like them.  I've stated before that I love the 60deg. bolt throw on the brownings, it's fast to cycle and allows for greater leeway in scope mounting.

  I have a .25-06 in a M70.  With RL-22 using 115gr Partitions I get 3200fps.
