A buddy of mine has a Browning scope that is made by Bushnell. As far as I can tell, Browning only offers one line so....does anyone know which Bushnell line the Browning scopes are comparable to? 3200? 4200? Thanks.

From Browning  press release:

Browning rifle scopes, with 94% light transmission, deliver some of the clearest views available. The optics on all browning scopes are fully multi-coated, meaning bright, clear images.
All browning rifle scopes are constructed of ultra-strong one-piece tube, guaranteed to handle just about any abuse and heavy recoiling guns.
Browning rifle scopes also feature a fast-focus eyepiece and finger adjustable 1/4 MOA windage and elevation adjustments with audible clicks.
There are 4 US models of Browning rifle scopes to choose from:
  • 2-7x32mm
  • 3-9x40mm
  • 3-9x50mm
  • 5-15x40mm

Remember, ALL browning rifle scopes feature fully multi-coated optics protected by their special Dura-Brite™ hard coat. And with scratch resistant matte finish, browning rifle scopes combine everything you'd ever want in a rifle scope.

They are definitely made by Bushnell. They do lack rainguard, but have an advertised light transmission higher than the 3200 series. I have a 3x9  on a rem 7400 30-06 and 3 2x7's on slug guns , and so far no issues whatsever with ruggedness, and they seem just a touch clearer than a  2x7 3200 I have . Sports Afield named the 3x9 a Best Buy back in 2005 when they were  bit more expensive then you can get them for now.

The 3200's aren't Fully Multi Coated so the Browning scopes must be a mixture of the 3200 and 4200 without Raingaurd.

Thats it, a mixture of 3200 and 4200 features. Since browning had them made to their specs they could have a combination scope made. Pity they don't have the rainguard.....

They are a mixture between 3200 and 4200 except they don't have rainguard. If you are thinking of buying one DONT. Bushnell 4200 is a better scpoe buy alot for about the same price.

No, the Browning scopes that can be found on closeout sales right now are very cheap....like $129 for 3X9!! These scopes are basically 3200 tubes with Better Glass in them! BUT, since Browning has dumped the scope line there probably is no warranty--but, I can't be sure about that.  Anyway, it would be a hell of a scope for the money. And besides 20 years ago nobody worried about warranties anyway!! Does every scope in the world fly apart these days?! ShockedWhat is the world coming to?  --Ed
