So I have been researching AR scopes to put on a BRO-PG2 for primarily varmint shooting (primarily coyotes) at a max range of 300 yards.  I have never owned an ACOG style scope and thought about putting one on my new rifle listed above, which is FDE in color.  Yes, I am anal and want the scope to be FDE also.  Anyway, looking at the Trijicon ACOG and they are quite expensive, so began looking at other quality alternatives.  I came across this Browe 4x32 that appears to be pretty solid.

I guess my question is, has anyone owned both, or done a side-by-side comparison on these, as I cannot find anything in my searching?

I've owned both.  Run as far as you can from Browe, their CS is far below what is needed for an optic of that price and they were far to condecinding when help is needed..... like sending in a brand new scope to have the turrets installed that slipped by QC or then having to send it back because they installed it incorrectly and the optic only had 4MOA of windage adjustment.  Stick with the tired and true ACOG.  Although due to eye relief I'd look at the 3 or 3.5 before the 4x.

Thanks for the response.  I hadn't decided on actual specs, just that the Browe only showed that one 4x32 so that is why I referenced that one.

As for illuminated reticles, I am sure there are TONS of opinions, but which color seems to be best for all light conditions?

I guess I should have said, I have been told in the past that the green is safest choice, but also figure there are varying opinions!

I have had all 3 reticles. Green is my fav, red second. Yellow washed out easily in both sun and flashlight and moving through terrains I lost it easier than the other two. I honestly didn't mind red. Green just pops better for me.

Of the 2, ACOG, no question.

But, for the price of an ACOG, you could have a very nice 1-4 or 1-6X, which is my choice for varmint out to 300.

ACOG is nice, I agree, have owned and used extensively, but ACOG was awesome when no one had a 1-4X tough enough.  That has now changed.
