As I once was a bomar nut, and still is in some way, i have installed bomars on a lot of weird guns.
Here are some..........

Ruger

Smith & Wesson, including partly new topstrap.

And in some cases we used Bowen sights.
They are good, but not as good as Bomars and they CANNOT stand the terrible recoil of the luger..........

terrible recoil of the luger--- thats funny-- used to use them alot in ipsc but after loosing a couple of stages in major matches from the sight taking a hard whack, the entire assemble can be knocked to one side fairly easy

Well, the luger is the nicest gun i know off to shoot with, and the felt recoil is very low.
But it's very hard on the sight.
A bomar mounted on a luger seems to hold for something like 4000-10000 rounds and then it's just to scrap and install a new one...........

I would think the thing must be pull 10-12 G's when the direction changes. When the bomars first came out they had a straight cut at the point were the slim portion meets the larger back portion. I used to send one of these a month back to bomar, broken, now most of them, are v shaped adding more material to this area.

Generally I am very satisfied with how well those sights have worked on all other guns, but the luger is the bigproblem.
I planned to make a height adjustable front sight and only have the rear sight adjustable for vindage and thus holding the weigth and the number of parts down, but never got so far.
