Blood-alcohol tester shows up to work under influence
December 12, 2008 by Fred Hosier

Hey, everyone should be able to have a drink once in a while, right?

No problem, as long as an employee doesn’t show up to work under the influence — especially if that worker’s job is to draw blood for sobriety tests.

Kathleen Cherry was called to the Carson City, NV, Sheriff’s Department to draw blood for a lab test.

Upon arriving, a deputy smelled alcohol on her breath. Cherry said she had one margarita before she drove to the jail.

She’s accused of failing sobriety tests and registering a blood alcohol content over the state’s .08% legal limit. (Did she have to draw her own blood?)

She was booked on a misdemeanor charge on suspicion of driving under the influence while en route to the jail to test a suspect’s blood alcohol content.

Cherry didn’t want to comment on the situation, according to the Nevada Appeal.
