This optic is SCREAMING my name folks!

http://swfa.com/Swarovski-3-10x42-Z3-Riflescope-P47243.aspx

I have been really eyeballing the Conquest...but this scope just says .300WSM ALL over it...

If I end up divorced in the near future, which is likely to happen if I spend nearly a grand on a scope, I'm going to be sitting on my front porch waiting for that nice UPS lady to come by with my scope fellas...

Oh yeah, and I bought that Hunter Wicked Optics and will be mounting it on the .300 and getting some range time in soon.  I'll let you all know how it does.

I have that very scope, Derek, albeit the version when it was called "AH."  It is a very nice scope and you won't be disappointed.  If you're gonna get it, now is the time to do it, given the rebates.

Do what my mate did. Take an old scope in for repairs and come home with the brand new one. The wife does not know the difference from one scope to another.

I tried that one...my wife is sharp...she noticed right away. I solved the dilema though...just bought her a scope she wanted. LOL.

I got a z6 a while back.  The bill is killer, but man are they nice scopes.  The worst part is, every other scope I own is now a disappointment when I look through them.

Mine is on a 300 WSM too, great combo.

This.

Purchase it, put it on a rifle and act like it's always been there.

And, gents, if you don't mind my asking, is/was the approaches that you all used to explain the sudden "loss" of nearly a thousand bucks?

So far, my arm is slowly being twisted...

I have always had some sort of side business to get my toy money..
My dad used to call it "rat hole money" that mama knew nothing about.

All the bills are paid, family well fed, reliable transportation, etc..
but as the sole provider I sure do like being able to have some discretionary funds..

I would even do the dreaded selling of a gun to fund another one or a really great scope if need be.
Can only hunt with one rifle at a time, would rather have a few great rifles than 30 so so ones..

Whoa man, you're sly!

I was thinking more simplistic.

When she came to me stating that we were missing 800 or so bucks, I was just going to say:  "Hmmm, that seems impossible, babe.  I've been scouting all year and even though the does haven't dropped off their fawns yet, at the end of last season, I was only seeing between 15-20 bucks coming and going...unless we're talking about county wide and then I can't help ya.  Sorry!"

We may be on to something here...

I just do the same thing as ccoker.

She doesn't know, doesn't ask, and I don't volunteer anything.

You can't lie if no discussion takes place.

How 'bout this...

Buy the scope.  If she notices the $ missing and starts yelling at you, before she gets halfway through the first sentence, suddenly blurt out "I'm gay!"  She'll then quickly forget about the scope.

Contemplating...

With the new lift on the "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy in the military, this approach MAY just benefit me ALL around.

I think that I just threw up in my mouth a little.

Funny you mention this.  I made a big mistake the other day.
Was at a "big store" comparing step up to Conquest vs a few other scopes and the salesman says "here - look through this Z3."
Yup - I said "wow!"
Now, (in my mind)  even the  Conquest has a fuzzy, blurry look.
Sigh.

I thought my Trijicon was great, just such a joy to look through.  Now like you said about the Conquest, my Trijicon looks fuzzy.  I makes my Viper, 4200, Burris, Big Sky, all like looking through dirty glass.
