Our lease  landowner called this week to say he saw a black panther.  (central Texas) He said it was a big black cat with a 6' tail.  It don't think he's the type to b.s. so i guess I believe him.

Anyone ever seen a big cat in the wild?

We had this thread a while back.  I've seen several over the years in East Texas.  They range from black to tan.  Technically they are Florida Panthers.

Maybe... It scared the hell out of the cattle.

What I have seen are "pets" at unoffical zoos.  They do get loose.

They have some REALLY  big cats!  I'd new some new tighty whiteys if I saw that at my lease.  I don't think my .270 would do much but tick him off.

Those cats are from private owners who can not handle them any more.  When I worked inspecting property I came across two mountain lions setting in a chicken wire cage.  They just looked at me and licked thier lips and twitched thier tails... My old neighbor used to have African lions.  My brothers inlaws neighbor has some...  A few years back somebody a couple miles from my grandmother had thier Bengal Tiger get bored and would take off and then come back like a tom cat.

Now you know what happens to the road kill...
