Prices are up on the website! No e-mail yet, so they are probably not active yet. But wow what a deal!

Yeah, major disappointment. I'm sure some folks will spring for it, but I can't justify paying full price for a new scope when it comes with $610.55 worth of stuff I don't want or need.
Cash off the 5-20 or 3-9 would have been the deal I'd have been all over. Now I have extra X-mas money to spend somewhere else.........
Bummed out and going to bed.

And another. Considering the illuminated scope sold for $1k with a bunch of extras, this seems awefully COLD (read frigid) for a hyped up launch. I was really hoping for at least the same package as the illuminated version for the same $1k price (maybe $900).

Great opportunity by SWFA
The 5x20 SS will find a nice home on my baby girl's 308 Savage FCP-K. I always need rings and caps and the extra 6x42 won't spoil on the shelf while waiting for me to purchase another rifle. Any suggestions on what rifle to put under the 6x42 would be appreciated!
IMHO- the SS Scope line is already value priced for the features and quality offered.

I am also disappointed in this offer. I was hoping for a large cash discount. I have little use for the 6x
SWFA. I was ready to drop around $900.00 for the 5-20. Guess i will save it for a rainy day. |

Man, what a let down!!!
Some may have a use for the extra scope and accessories, but for me it's about the $, which right now I don't have much of. And why signup on the e-mail list if it's posted on the site several hours before it's even sent by e-mail? SWFA, you dropped the ball on this one.

There are other deals than just that scope. Still a great deal.
I am trying to figure out what gun I need the 5-20 on (maybe my 22-250) and then what setup I could put the 6x on. Then sell other scopes that come off those guns. Or maybe buy the scope for a rifle to come in the future. For those of you that wanted to spend less on the scope, take the 6x and sell it with accessories, and by the time you are done, you will be down to the price you wanted to spend. Just an option.

Well in my tenure here, MOST....certainly not all folks that come to this fine forum seeking optics advise, (no place better for that) follow up a "what kind of scope do I need for 'ol Betsy" question with a "what brand/type of rings would you suggest for said scope" question.
That said, it's not a stretch, in my mind at least, for SWFA to offer accessories with what is an ALL READY GREAT DEAL on a Super Sniper, year around. The 3-9x SS for anything less than $900....is insane! I've told the good people at SWFA that. The "normal" prices on the 5-20x are already more than reasonable, in comparison to other scopes in it's class. I admit to not owning a 5-20x yet, but I did get to fool around with one in TX this year and found it to be terrific. Not sure why ya'll are disappointed. How much "less" can SWFA sell these fine optics, Gents? IF the price were to be slashed 20%-30% on Black Friday, I'd feel like I was ripped off the other 364 days a year, wouldn't you?

I'm not a tactical "scope guy" by any stretch. But, though not an individual discount on the scope itself, this is an outrageous deal IMO. I think without the Seekins, throwing in the 6x42 still makes it a steal.
I'm not sure what rifle the 6x42 would be suitable for. If the reticle is heavy enough, similar to the 3-9 SS on 6X, it would be great for hunting in any conditions. It will show up well against heavy cover and in low light. That scope is a real bonus. |

Looks like you guys are getting your wish for just a price on the scope, and it is a killer deal, although I think the package deal was a steal that everyone will miss out on that doesn't get one. And unfortunately, it looks like I will miss it, but I wish I could get it.

Don't feel too bad, you could have been a jackwagon like me and placed an order on the 23rd for the standard swfa 10x42, and then added the butler creek caps, mil dot master, and 42mm sunshade........ $386 later........

I did, but it's all good.
![]() I sent an email asking if they could just throw in some SWFA rings. I'm not worried about the money aspect of it, cause after all it was MY mistake. At the end of the day, I still have a kickass swfa scope coming!!!! It's going on an AR10 and I am contemplating ordering another with all the stuff to go on a Savage 10FCP I'll be picking up the first week in January......I know it's going to need a scope for it's intended use.......just trying to talk myself into it as I type :D |
