Help!  I am interested in buying a pair of quality binocualrs for hunting and want something reliable, rugged, that had a good warrenty?  Any suggestions?  I was thinking along the lines of Nikon Monarch, Pentax SPs, Zeiss, Kahles, Minox, Leica, Swarovski.  I can spend up to $1000 but don't know if I would be that much better off with a $1000 pair as I would with a $500 pair?  I am going to use them for deer hunting in North Carolina, Turkey hunting.  I am thinking about a pair of either 8x30/32 or 8x40/42.  Would like to hear from anyone who would have any suggestions.  Thanks

Assuming roof prism.....

1. Nikon 8x32 HGs or 8x42 HGs. The older models of both can be had well under $1000 and the optical quality is right up there with the $1000+ Leica, Zeiss, Swaros. I have seen the 8x32s priced right around $500 and the 8x42s around $700...new.

2. Zeiss Conquest 8x40s with the Abbe Koenig prisms

2. Pentax DCF-SPs  in either 8x32 or 8x42 configurations

3. Zeiss Conquest 8x30s

4. Nikon Monarch 8x42s

5. Pentax DCF-XP 8x33s

Fujinon binoculars are the brightest and sharpest optics I have ever used. I have the FMTR-SX 7x50. They are big and heavy but if you have to find something hiding the in the brush they can't be beat. Plus no annoining focus wheel. Everyone who has used them says thay are the best binoculars thay have ever used.
