The whitetails have been giving us fits.  Much too warm, deer moving mostly at night, etc.  My buddy got lucky on this big main frame 8 point, with a 2" kicker off his browtine.   I had never seen a 150" 8 pt before this one.......153" gross to be exact.   Now before someone starts a s - - -storm, no high fences, no protein, food plots, etc.  100% wild.

I wasn't upset about the black cat crossing my path this morning but mouthing "your fu@#ed" as he passed was just rude.

That's how we knew in the first place, and why I told you 6 1/2....... by looking at his teeth.

Texas deer have big racks, but smaller bodies than northern deer

10" G1?
18" inside spread?

That buck, like all the mature bucks in this area of the TX Panhandle, are much bigger bodied than anywhere else in the state.   Field dressed 179lbs, live weight app 230lbs.  We've killed deer up there that field dressed over 200lbs, but the drought has hit it pretty hard.   These are more of a Kansas strain of whitetail.  20" inside main beams, 4" G1's, 11" G2's,  9" G3's, 25" main beams, 18+" mass per side.

That's one nice buck.
Life's concerns should be about the 120lb pack your trying to get to the top of the mountain, and not the rock in your boot.
