I have a 7mm STW and a Weaver Classic V16. Should I be worried about eye relief?

The 7mm STW is a factory sendero SF

OK let me try and clarify.

The 7MM STW uses an 8MM Magnum Cartidge (.375 H&H) and the Weaver Classic has 3" of eye relief.

Do you think it's enough?

Had the same scope on a 30 STW and I had no problems with eye relief. Given the weight of a Sendero, you should be good to go.

Good to hear. I took the rifle to the range had the scope mounted and the gunsmith site it in (rough). He's and older gent and did OK. I assume I'll be allright.

Any ideas on the V16 has people seen problems with a big bore like the 7mm STW?

I put alot of lead downrange during barrel break-in and load development, and never had a problem with the scope. It could have been brighter but I didn't have that expectation given the price of the scope. I would imagine that I was dealing with more recoil than your 7 STW unless you have a lightweight.

It's a reminton sendero Stainless Fluted with the Kevlar stock. Pretty heavy gun.

It had a Simmons Aetec that went south, It was replaced under warranty with a Weaver Classic.

I had the exact same gun, in fact it was the first 7 STW factory rifle I'd ever seen. I got a killer deal on because nobody knew what it was, and nobody wanted it.

Anyway, I had a Tasco Euro scope on it, 3-12x52mm. Worked beautifully, killed a whitetail at nearly 500 yards with it, then took it to Wyoming on an antelope hunt and wound up shooting my 'lope at 75 yards! <G>

Try 140 grain nosler ballistic tips in it.

I'm trying to get away from Nosler B's. I have had a run of bad luck using these in several different calibers of guns.

I have had problems harvesting deer and no exit wound on the animal. Someone said that they are to fast and falling apart when it makes contact with the animal.

My .270 I shot 4 deer with this year and have not had one exit wound. (130 grain)

My .30-06 I shot two deer last year with no exit wounds. (165 grain)

Some are custom loads and some are factory. I know the last couple with the .270 have been with Factory Federal Vital Shocks.
