Dear friends:

My question is referred to the best reticle for night hunting. I live in Argentina and this type of hunting isn´t forbidden, so I ask your opinion for my next purchase, of a Zeiss Victory riflescope 3x12x56 that comes with iluminated reticle in models 40 (iluminated red point) or 44 ( iluminated little cross). These two reticles in Nº 4 configuration.

Thank you for your attention.

i vote the red point - it obscures LESS of the target. my 2 cents.

either would be fine, though.

I prefer the illuminated red dot myself.

My vote goes for the Trijicon. No batteries, hollow two leg post for holdover and, as Dolphin points out, probably the world's most underrated optics at a price point far less than the European scopes. Just bought a NIB 3-9 for $545 (shipped) on the world's largest on line auction site.

I like the #40, too. The #44 is too "busy" for my eyes.

Trijicon would be a good choice, for your intended application. I too like the #40.
