Welcome to the OT!
A little more info would help us in helping you: How compact? Porro or Roof? What magnification? and most importantly: What are your intended uses? |

Just one more question to add to Bitterroot Bulls excellent checklist:
What is your budget? You can buy very flexible 6 or 8 power Pentax Papilios, for around $100, that also allow very close focus for detail observation of butterflies or similar small creatures, sort of a long distance magnifying glass. Alternatively, you can get the minimal size Zeiss 8x20 Conquest, which fir into a pants pocket and give good, albeit slightly finicky views. Slightly bigger, everyone from Nikon on up is eager to serve you, often at quite reasonable prices. Lastly, do note LLBean is currently running a 30% off sale and they carry both Nikon and Swarovski. You could get a pretty decent deal if you can figure out what you want quickly. |

I assume you realize the challenges involved in using a 10X25 of a hunting glass. Particularly, the small exit pupil (and resulting poor low light performance), and the shaking a tiny 10x binocular has when handheld.
That said, the Leica Ultravid is the best of the 10X25s: http://swfa.com/Leica-10x25-Ultravid-Binocular-P2979.aspx If you are not totally set on that configuration, and would be willing to bump up the size a bit, Any of the 8X32 offerings from Swarovski, Zeiss, or Leica would be excellent choices. Zen Ray's ED2 series in 7X36 and 9X36 would provide surprising optical quality, at a much lower price, but in a bit bulkier package. http://swfa.com/Leica-8x32-Ultravid-HD-Binocular-P10758.aspx http://swfa.com/Swarovski-8x32-EL-Binocular-P2003.aspx http://swfa.com/Zeiss-8x32-Victory-FL-Binocular-P7762.aspx http://swfa.com/Zen-Ray-Zen-ED2-Binoculars-C2703.aspx |

The Vortex Viper 6x32 is a phenomenal small hunting binocular.

I use to have a pair of Leica 8x20 Trinovids, fantastic optics but the eye relief was always on the short side as an eyeglass wearer. Sold them and got a pair of 8x20 Ultravids - hoe-lee crap!
